Normal View
Normal view is the default
view in PowerPoint used to
create and design the slides
in a presentation. The user
can add text, animation,
sound, graphics and other
desired eff ects to the slides.
The content added in the
slides can also be modifi ed.
Slide Pane, Notes Pane and
Slides Navigation Pane are
three parts of Normal view.
• Slide Pane displays a large view of the slide.
• Notes Pane displays notes.
• Slides Navigation Pane displays slides as thumbnails.
All these parts are visible to the user at the same time. The user can click on the Normal view
button present at the bottom of the slide window to open ‘Normal’ view. He/She can also access
this view by clicking on the Normal button in the ‘Presentation Views’ group of the ‘View’ tab.
Outline View
The Outline view displays
the text outline in the
Outline Pane. The user can
view the contents of all
the slides at once and can
make changes in the text
on the slides. The Outline
View can be accessed on
the View tab.
Slide Sorter View
Slide Sorter view displays the thumbnail representations of all slides of a presentation. The user
can reorder, insert, delete or duplicate slides using this view.
Slide Sorter view also allows the users to perform the following tasks.
• Group slides in specifi c sections.
• Hide and show selected slides.
• Manage transition eff ects as the presentation progresses from one slide to next.
