                             Column A Column B

                          2. Water vapour (b) Liquid form of water

                          3. Water (c) Solid form of water

                    E. Answer the following questions.

                          1. Defi ne matter.

                          2. Name the three diff erent forms of matter. Defi ne them with examples.

                          3. Write three properties each of solids, liquids and gases.

                          4. What are the uses of matter in our daily lives?

                          5. Name a substance that occurs in all the three diff erent forms.

                             THINK AND ANSWER

Rohan’s mother tells him to keep the milk in the refrigerator. By mistake, he keeps
it in the freezer. After some time, his mother asks him to bring the milk and he is
shocked to see the form of milk. What is it? Suggest ways how Rohan can bring this
form of milk into its original form.

                       TALK ABOUT

Discuss about various types of substances you see in your surroundings. Based on the
observable properties, group them into solids, liquids and gases.

                        LINK AND LEARN

Make drawings in which all three states of matter are present together. For example, a cup
of tea. Here, cup is solid, tea is liquid and vapours coming out from hot tea are gas. Make
any two such drawings and hang them in your classroom.
