Liquids Flow and Take Diff erent Shapes
Aim:
To see how liquids fl ow and take diff erent shapes
You Need:
Water and containers of diff erent shapes
What to Do:
Get containers of diff erent shapes and pour water
into them.
Observation:
You will observe that water fl ows easily and does not have a fi xed shape. It takes the shape
of the container in which it is poured.
Properties of gases
• Gases do not have a fi xed shape or size.
• Gases spread and fi ll all the space available to
them in a closed container.
• Most gases are colourless and cannot be seen.
They are present all around us in the air.

Gases Spread and Fill the Available Spacep
Aim:
To see how gases spread and fi ll the available spacece
You Need:
Flat balloons and balloon pump
What to Do:
Blow air into the fl at balloons and see what
happens to them.
Observation:
You will observe that the air you have fi lled spreads and fi lls all the space inside the balloon,
making it bigger in size.
