Water fl ows easily
Water has the ability to fl ow easily. It can fl ow only
from a higher level to a lower level. It fl ows and
takes the shape of the container it is poured into.
Water fl ows out of the container once it is full.
Water can change its form easily
Water changes its form from solid (ice) to, liquid (water) and to gas (water vapour).
This happens due to cooling and heating of water.
Water Solution
A solution is formed when two or more sugar
substances of the same kind mix or dissolve
completely. The substance which dissolves
is called a solute, while the substance into
which a solute dissolves is called a solvent.
stir
Solute substances are usually present in
lesser quantity while solvent forms the largest water
component of a solution. Solvent is commonly
sugar solution
a liquid substance which can dissolve a solute
easily. For example, if you dissolve sugar in water, sugar is the solute, water is
the solvent and the sweet water formed is the solution. Generally, most of the
substances dissolve in water to form a solution.
Conditions that aff ect making of a solution
Normally, a solute dissolves faster in water under the following conditions.
• A solute dissolves faster when it is stirred in water.
• A solute dissolves faster when water is heated.
• Increasing the quantity of water can make the solute dissolve faster in it.
• When the solute is broken into smaller pieces, it dissolves faster in water.
