Step 4 3. Select the Format Cells option. The ‘Format
Cells’ dialog box will appear.

Step 4 4. Select the desired format by clicking on the
Date and Time options in the ‘Category’ list
of the ‘Number’ tab.

Modifying Content of Cells

We can modify the content of cells either by replacing it or by using Edit mode.

Replacing Content of Cells Step 1

Follow these steps to replace the
content of cell(s).
1. Enter the data as shown.

2. Select the cell B4 whose
content needs to be
modifi ed.
3. Click on the cell B4 and

type the ‘13000’ as a new
value. The previous value is
modifi ed with the new one.

Using Editing Mode

Follow these steps to modify the content of
the cells using the Edit mode.

1. Select the cell B4 and double-click on

it. The insertion point will blink within
the cell. Also, the Edit mode will be
indicated on the left side of the ‘Status
bar’.

Step 2 2. Make the changes in the current cell.
Now, the Edit mode will be changed to
the Ready mode.
