Solu on: Say or iden fy the names of shapes in the pa ern and number them mentally.

                                   1 1 2 2 2 1 1 2 2 2
                                  The shapes are repeated in the pa ern 1 1 2 2 2, 1 1 2 2 2, ...

                    Growing and Reducing Patterns

A growing pa ern, also called an increasing pa ern, is a pa ern in which one or more
elements of the sequence or arrangement increases repeatedly. An element is any single
item, shape, number or step of the pa ern.

On the other hand, a reducing pa ern, also called a decreasing pa ern, is a pa ern in
which one or more elements of the sequence or arrangement decreases repeatedly.
