Food pipe is an organ which carries food and liquids from the mouth to the stomach. It
is also known as oesophagus.
Stomach is a ‘J’–shaped, bag-like organ. It contains powerful
digestive juices that further breakdown the food until it
changes into a pulp-like thick paste called chyme. From here,
the semidigested food or chyme moves into the small intestine.

Liver produces the digestive juice which helps in digestion of
food and absorption of nutrients. The gall bladder stores the juice
produced by liver and releases it in the

Small intestine is a long, coiled tube-like structure.
It helps in the further breakdown of food by mixing large intestine
it with digestive juices from liver and pancreas.
Digestion is completed here and the nutrients
from food are absorbed into blood. Blood carries small intestine
the absorbed nutrients to other body parts and the
undigested food is pushed into the large intestine.
Large intestine (or large bowel) is also a long tube- rectum
anus
like structure. It collects the undigested food from
the small intestine and absorbs extra water from Intestine
it. This results in the formation of waste products
called faeces.
Rectum is the tube that connects large intestine to the anus. Faeces are stored in the
rectum for a short period of time before they are excreted out.
Anus is the last organ of the digestive system. From here, the faeces are excreted out of
the body.
