                      2. Find the area of a square whose perimeter is 52 m.

                      3. Find the distance covered by Simran if she goes around a triangular park with sides 130 m,
                          30 m and 120 m once.
                      4. The longest side of a triangle is 440 cm and its shortest side is one-fourth of its longest side. If
the perimeter of the triangle is 900 cm, find the third side of the triangle.

                      5. A square and a rectangle have equal areas. If each side of the square is 24 cm and the breadth
of the rectangle is 12 cm, find the length of the rectangle.

                      6. Calculate the perimeter and area of the adjoining figure, given that 6 cm
any two consecutive sides are at right angle.
                                                                                               3 cm 3 cm

                      7. A lawn measuring 12.6 m by 8.5 m is to be covered by identical 3 cm
tiles measuring 30 cm by 30 cm. Find the number of tiles required.

                      8. A piece of wire is 48 cm long. What will be the length of each side if the string is used to form
                          a square.

                      9. Find the cost of fencing a rectangular park of length 100 m and breadth 80 m at the rate of
                          ` 12 per metre.

                                                                     2
                     10. The area of a rectangular garden is 216 m and its length is 18 m. Find the length of a wire
                          required to fence the garden.

                     11. Find the cost of levelling a square field of side 14 m at the rate of ` 6.5 per square metre.

                     12. What happens to the area of a square, if its side is halved?

                     13. A floor measuring 12 m by 8 m is to be carpeted. What should be the length of the carpet just
enough to cover the floor, if the width of the carpet is 4 m.

                     14. In the adjoining figure, the sides of the squares are 15 cm and 7 cm
respectively. Find the area of the shaded portion. 7 cm
