Multiplication and Division of Weights
We mul ply or divide the weights in the same way as we mul ply or divide the lengths.
Example 18: Mul ply 6 kg 545 g by 4.
2 1 2
Solu on: 6 kg 545 g = (6 × 1,000) g + 545 g
6 5 4 5
= 6,000 g + 545 g = 6,545 g
× 4
Now mul ply 6,545 g by 4.
2 6 1 8 0
6,545 g × 4 = 26,180 g
26,180 g = 26 kg 180 g
So, the product obtained is 26 kg 180 g.
