                            (c) 412 kg 926 g, 376 kg 837 g and 205 kg 994 g

                           (d) 83 kg 409 g, 21 kg 632 g and 58 kg 716 g
                           (e) 532 kg 621 g, 84 kg 700 g and 258 kg 105 g

                            (f) 123 kg 605 g, 801 kg 324 g and 5 kg 7 g

                      2. Subtract the following weights.
                           (a) 3 kg 21 g from 9 kg 54 g (b) 4 kg 890 g from 7 kg 650 g

                            (c) 39 kg 653 g from 48 kg 425 g (d) 517 kg 888 g from 724 kg 360 g
                           (e) 25 kg 38 g from 87 kg 64 g (f) 391 kg 545 g from 484 kg 96 g

                      3. Solve the following word problems.

                           (a) Neha keeps 2 kg apples, 1 kg 500 g oranges and 725 g grapes in the refrigerator.
What is the total weight of fruits that she keep in the refrigerator? How much
fruits will be le if she takes out 500 g oranges?

                           (b) Radha bought a pack of 10 kg rice for a month. At the end of the month 2 kg
250 g rice was le . How much rice was used in the month?
                            (c) The weight of papa giraff e is 1,120 kg 540 g and that of mama giraff e is
850 kg 345 g. Who weighs more and by how much?

                           (d) Ranjan is carrying two suitcases weighing 34 kg 800 g and 31 kg 200 g,
respec vely. What is the total weight of suitcases?
                           (e) Arun weighs 56 kg and Sushma weighs 48 kg 500 g. What is their total weight?

                    Multiplication and Division of Weights

We mul ply or divide the weights in the same way as we mul ply or divide the lengths.

                    Example 18: Mul ply 6 kg 545 g by 4.
                                                                                                          2 1 2
                    Solu on: 6 kg 545 g = (6 × 1,000) g + 545 g
                                                                                                          6 5 4 5
                                              = 6,000 g + 545 g = 6,545 g
                                                                                                      × 4
                                  Now mul ply 6,545 g by 4.
                                                                                                      2 6 1 8 0
                                  6,545 g × 4 = 26,180 g
                                   26,180 g = 26 kg 180 g
So, the product obtained is 26 kg 180 g.
