P. 143
Example 11: If 2 m 50 cm of cloth is used for making a frock, how much cloth is required
for making 7 such frocks?
Solu on: Cloth required for making a frock = 2 m 50 cm = 250 cm Calcula on
3
Number of frocks to be made = 7 2 5 0
Cloth required for making 7 frocks = 250 cm × 7 × 7
= 1,750 cm 1 7 5 0
= 17 m 50 cm
So, 17 m 50 cm of cloth is required for making 7 such frocks.
Example 12: If 10 m cloth is required to make 5 pants. How much cloth is required to make
1 pant?
Calcula on
Solu on: Cloth required for making 5 pants = 10 m 2
Cloth required for making 1 pant = 10 m 5 = 2 m 5 10
