Once these resources are used up completely, they cannot be produced again. So,
we should not waste them, and use them carefully and wisely.

                        TIME TO REVISE

Classify the following into renewable and non-renewable sources of energy.
                        Coal Wind energy Hydroelectric energy
                        Natural gas Petroleum Solar energy

                    Conservation of Energy

Conservation of energy is the process of saving energy by reducing its use and

wastage. Since some of the energy sources are limited, we must use the available
                    energy carefully.

                    Ways to conserve energy

                    • Turn off the lights during daytime and use daylight as much as possible.

                    • Switch off the fans and lights when not in use.
                    • Use LED light bulbs and tubes. They last longer and use lesser energy.

                    • Keep the refrigerator door closed to save energy.

                    • Always run a full load in the dishwasher and washing machine.

                    • Dry your clothes in the sun instead of a dryer.

                    • Walk or take public transport to go to nearby places.

                    • Use natural gas for cooking.

                    • Use renewable energy sources like solar energy and wind energy to produce

other useful sources of energy. This can help avoid the use of non-renewable
                       energy sources.
