                     13. In the given figure, the coloured region is the region in which
the crocodile can easily catch its prey. Identify the person
who is not safe. Also explain why?

                                                                                       Meera

                     14. A carpenter should attach two wooden sticks perpendicular to each other to provide strength to
a circular table top. Which carpenter among the following did this job correctly?

                      1. All the vertices of a triangle are:
                         (i) collinear (ii) non-collinear (iii) concurrent (iv) non-concurrent

                      2. Which shape among the following have curvilinear boundary?
                         (i) Square (ii) Rectangle (iii) Circle (iv) Triangle

                      3. Consider the figure shown and answer the following.
                         (a) How many squares are there in the figure?
                         (b) How many pairs of parallel lines are there in the figure?

                        Individual Activity

Objective: To know the number of lines passing through (a) one point and (b) two points
Material required: Drawing sheets, a pencil, a ruler

                        Demonstration:
                        Step 1: Mark two points P and Q on a white sheet P Q
                                  of paper.
Step 2: Fold the paper so that the crease passes Q
                                  through the point P. P
Step 3: Keep folding the paper in different directions
so that each crease passes through the point P.
                        Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the point Q. P Q

Observation: There are unlimited lines passing through P or Q, but only one line that passes
                        through P and Q.
Inference: Infinite lines can pass through one point and only one line passes through two points.
