Example 10: Devesh bought a chocolate for ` 10 and 50 p. He paid ` 15 to the shopkeeper.
How much did the shopkeeper return to Devesh?

                                                                    ` p Top Tip
                                                                   14 100 As 00 p is less than 50 p,
Solution: Amount that Devesh paid 15 00 we cannot subtract.
                          to the shopkeeper = ` 15.00 – 10 50 So we borrow ` 1 = 100 p

                          Cost of chocolate = ` 10.50 4 50 from ` 15 and then
                                                                                           subtract.
So, the shopkeeper returned ` 4.50 to Devesh.
