Merging Cells
Merging refers to combining data
split in numerous segments of a
cell to give it a better look.
Follow these steps to merge cells. Step 2 Step 1
1. Select the cells to be
merged.
2. Click on the Merge Cells
button in the ‘Merge’ group
of the ‘Layout’ tab.
3. The data gets merged into a single cell.

We can format a table by applying
background to it or putting borders
around it. It enhances the overall
appearance of a table.

Follow these steps to format a table.
1. Click on the table to be
formatted.
2. Click on the Design tab under
the ‘Table Tools’.
3. Select the desired style from
the ‘Table Styles’ group. It Step 3
gets applied to the table.
