PowerPoint 2016

Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 is an application software used to create presentations.
PowerPoint is usually used with a projector so that many people can see the presentation
at one time. It enables us to build slides that are used to convey our ideas to people.

Presentation

A PowerPoint presentation consists of several pages called slides. Each slide is a single
screen containing text, pictures, graphics, tables, audio and video. This collection can
run automatically or can be controlled by a presenter. The slides can be arranged in a

sequence to present the ideas and views of the topic in a logical manner.

Advantages of a Presentation

A PowerPoint presentation off ers the following advantages.

• It is used as a powerful communication tool to present ideas and views eff ectively
through a visual medium.

• The user can easily import data from MS Word, MS Excel, Clip Art or Paint into a
PowerPoint presentation to make it eff ective.

• The user can even create handout material and speaker’s notes.

Starting PowerPoint 2016

Follow these steps to start PowerPoint presentation.
Step 2
1. Click on the Start button.

2. Click on PowerPoint.

3. Click on the Blank Presentation.

4. A new blank presentation named ‘Presentation 1’ will
appear on the screen.
