Opening a Program
A program can be opened in three diff erent ways.
1. Double-click on the icon of the program to open it.
2. Single-click on the icon of the program to be opened and press the Enter key.
3. Click on the Start button and type Run in
the ‘Search’ box. Press the Enter key. You will Do and Learn

Taskbar
The long horizontal bar present at the bottom of the desktop is called Taskbar. It consists
of the Start button, middle section and the Notifi cation Area.
Start Button
Start button is the most important on the Taskbar. A list of
options appear on clicking the Start button. It helps the user to
perform various tasks such as opening a program or document
that needs to be worked upon, searching the required fi les and
folders and turning the computer off .
