Deselecting an Icon
The colour of the selected icon changes to its original colour when it is deselected.
Follow these steps to deselect an icon.
1. Move the mouse pointer away from the selected icon.
2. Click the left mouse button once. The icon gets deselected.
Selecting Adjacent Icons
Follow these steps to select the adjacent icons.
1. Click on the fi rst icon to select it.
2. Keep the Shift key pressed and click on the last icon to be selected.
3. Release the Shift key.
4. All the adjacent icons will be selected.
Selecting Non-adjacent Icons
Follow these steps to select the non-adjacent icons.
1. Keep the Control (Ctrl) key pressed.
2. Click on each icon one by one to be selected.
3. Release the Ctrl key.
4. All the non-adjacent icons will be selected.
Arranging the Icons on Desktop

Follow these steps to arrange icons on a desktop to Step 3

1. Right-click on the blank area of the desktop. A
list of options called the ‘Shortcut’ menu will
appear.
2. Select the View option.
3. Click on the Auto arrange icons option from the
submenu. Do and Learn
4. The icons will be arranged as desired. Arrange the icons on your
desktop screen.
Sorting the Icons
Follow these steps to arrange the icons in a proper sequence on a desktop.
1. Right-click on the blank area of the desktop.
