Division
Let’s Recall ...
• Division means distributing equal quantities in equal groups.
• The number to be divided is called dividend.
• The number by which we divide is called divisor.
• The answer obtained is called quotient.
• The number which remains after dividing is called remainder.
• Every division has two multiplication facts and every multiplication has two division
facts.
• Dividend = (Divisor × Quotient) + Remainder
• Any number divided by itself gives 1.
• Any number divided by 1 gives the number itself.
• Zero divided by any number, results in zero.
• No number can be divided by 0.
