5 There are 8 flower pots each having equal number of flowers. If in all there are
72 flowers, how many flowers are there in each flower pot?

6 In a section of class III, there are 45 students. The teacher wishes to divide them in
5 groups for some activity. How many students will be there in each group?

            Sharing by Grouping

In division, we either find the number of groups or the number to be put in each group.

            Look at the given examples.

Example 1: Kinjal wants to treat 3 of her friends on her birthday. She brings 12
pastries from her house and gives them equally to all her friends. How
many pastries will each friend get?

Solution: Kinjal starts distributing the pastries as shown.

                             First she gives one
                             pastry to each friend.

                             Then she gives one
                             more pastry to each
                             friend.

                             She gives another
                             one pastry to each
                             friend.

Kinjal still has some pastries left.

                             She gives one more

                             pastry to each friend.

No more pastries are left with Kinjal.
