                                           Division

                            Let’s Recall ...

Division means distributing equal quantities in equal groups. It is denoted
by the symbol ÷. The number to be divided is the dividend. The number
by which we divide is the divisor. The answer we get is the quotient.

1 Divide equally by forming groups.

                   (a) 16 sandwiches among 4 children

                                                  16 ÷ 4 = _________

                   (b) 12 ice creams among 6 children

                                                  12 ÷ 6 = _________

             2 Divide using repeated subtraction.

                   (a) 28 ÷ 7 = _______ (b) 50 ÷ 10 = _______ (c) 48 ÷ 8 = _______

3 For each multiplication fact, write two division facts.

                  (a) 4 × 5 = 20 ______________, ______________

                  (b) 8 × 7 = 56 ______________, ______________

                   (c) 1 × 6 = 6 ______________, ______________

4 Divide and find the quotient.
