Properties of Division
There are certain properties of division. Let’s understand them.
Division of a number by 1
A number when divided by 1 gives the same number Mental Maths
as the quotient. Find the quotient.
For example, 112 ÷ 1 = 112 1225 ÷ 1 = 1225 9 ÷ 1 = ?
15 ÷ 1 = ?
Division of a number by itself
220 ÷ 1 = ?
A number when divided by itself gives the quotient 3070 ÷ 1 = ?
as 1.
For example, 119 ÷ 119 = 1 7430 ÷ 7430 = 1
Division of 0 by a number
0 when divided by any number gives the quotient as 0.
For example, 0 ÷ 79 = 0 0 ÷ 653 = 0
Division of a number by 0
It is not possible to divide a number by 0.
