                      1.  Solve the following word problems.

                           (a)  There are 436 students in an examina  on hall. If 235 of them are boys, how
                                many girls are there?
                           (b)  Library A has 2,754 books. Library B has 3,263 books. Which library has more

                            (c)  The sum of two numbers is 6,495. If one number is 2,439, what is the other
                                number?
                           (d)  A shopkeeper bought 158 kg tomatoes. He sold 63 kg tomatoes. If 9 kg tomatoes
                                were ro  en and had to be thrown away, how many kilograms of tomatoes
                                were le   with the shopkeeper?

                           (e)  Out of 4,114 students who registered for a drawing compe    on from various
                                schools, only 2,978 students par  cipated in the compe    on. How many
                                students did not par  cipate?
