Care of Teeth and Gums
Taking care of teeth and gums is very important for
maintaining our overall health. Poor oral hygiene may cause Did You Know!

Following are some ways to take care of your teeth and gums.
• Brush your teeth at least twice a day—before breakfast and after
dinner to prevent plaque formation.
• Use a soft-bristled brush and fl uoride-containing toothpaste.
Fluoride protects the enamel from cavities. Make sure you brush
your teeth properly and in the right manner.
• Rinse your mouth with water or a fl uoride-containing mouthwash Brushing
after each and every meal. Swish the mouthwash in your mouth
for 30–60 seconds. You can also use a salt solution for rinsing your
mouth.
• Use dental fl oss to clean the gaps between your teeth. Do not use
any other pointed object for fl ossing. It may hurt you.
• Clean your tongue daily with a tongue cleaner. Clean it gently so
