People like athletes and labourers, who do a lot of physical activity, require more
                    carbohydrates for extra energy.

                    Fats

Fats act as fuels and give us more energy than

carbohydrates. They also help to keep our body
warm. Food rich in fats is also called energy giving
food. Oils, nuts, butter and meat are some rich

                    sources of fats.

Our body needs a very little amount of fat. Thus,
the extra fat is stored in our body for future use.

Too much intake of fat is not good for our health.
                                                                                         Some fat-rich food items
This can make us fat and lead to a condition called
                    obesity.

                                                           Proteins

Proteins are needed for building muscles, and for

growth and repair of our body. Food rich in proteins
is also called bodybuilding food. Fish, eggs, meat,
cheese, pulses and beans are good sources of protein.

Growing children require more proteins in their food
because proteins support their body’s growth and

Some protein-rich food items development. Therefore, they should eat lots of protein
                                                           rich food.

                    Vitamins and minerals

Vitamins help in protecting our body from diseases, and minerals help in the formation

of bones, blood and teeth. Thus, they are also known as protective foods. Fresh fruits,
