                      6. If twice of a number is decreased by 7, it gives 15. Find the number.
                      7. The sum of two consecutive numbers is 91. Find the smaller number.

                      8. A boy is 6 years younger than his brother. If the sum of their ages is 42 years, find their ages.
                      9. A man’s age is 28 years more than the age of his son. If the sum of their ages is 58 years, find
                        their ages.
                     10. The difference between the capacities of two containers is 14 litres and the sum of their capacities
is 44 litres. Find their capacities.

                     11. One-fifth of a number when added to half of that number gives 35. Find the number.
                     12. The number 5 is subtracted from a given number and the difference is divided by 4. If the quotient
is 5 and there is no remainder, find the given number.

                      1. Ankit has 3 times as many coins as Rupa has. Rupa gets 10 more coins and now they have the
equal number of coins. How many coins do they have in all now?
                      2. Consider the following statements about the rectangles A and B.
                         • The length of rectangle A is double its breadth.

                         • Each side of rectangle A is longer than the sides of rectangle B.
                         • The difference between their longer sides is 4 units.

                         • The difference between their smaller sides is 1 unit.
                         • The length of rectangle B is 2 more than its breadth.
Find the side lengths of both the rectangles.

                      3. A pattern starts with (x – 5) and each term in the pattern is twice the previous term. Find the first
five terms in the pattern if the sum of first three terms is 49.
