Word Problem
Example 13: A 5 m 200 cm long piece of wire is cut from a 18 m 800 cm long wire. What is
the length of the wire left?
Solution: Length of the wire = 18 m 800 cm m cm
Length that is cut = 5 m 200 cm 10 800
∴ Length of the wire left = 18 m 800 cm – 5 m 200 cm – 5 200
Thus, the length of the wire left is 13 m 600 cm. 13 600
