Project Work
Do you offer crumbs to little birds like the poet? Wouldn’t it be nice to make them a
feeder instead of caging them in our house?
You can make a bird feeder using discarded shoeboxes or empty milk cartons. Line them
with pieces of soft cotton cloth, dried grass, twigs and dry leaves. You can place grains and
water and hang it on a tree nearby. There are several other ways you can make a bird feeder.
Follow these steps to make a shoebox bird feeder.
1. Take a deep shoebox and colour it in bright
colours.
2. Cut out a hole along the width and fill the box
with cotton wool.
3. Tie the box on both ends and hang it outdoor,
away from obstructions.
4. Put some seeds and crumbs and a bowl of water
in it. Clean the feeder from time to time and
refill it with food and water.
If you are lucky, birds might come visit you.
