                                   Walk

Have you ever observed a bird? What is particular about its movement? Answer these questions
and read the poem below that describes the actions of a little bird.

A bird, came down the walk –
He did not know I saw –
                                              1
He bit an angle worm in halves
                    And ate the fellow, raw,

And then, he drank a dew
                                          2
                    From a convenient grass –
And then hopped sidewise to the wall
To let a beetle pass –

                    He glanced with rapid eyes,
                    That hurried all abroad –

They looked like frightened beads, I thought,
                                3
He stirred his velvet head. –

                                                     4
Like one in danger, cautious ,
                                              5
                    I offered him a crumb ,
                    And he unrolled his feathers,
                                 6
                    And rowed him softer home.
