                      Be careful while entering the data and selecting a type of chart as it would represent your data.



                       Tech Terms


                      Chart:  A pictorial representation of data
                      Chart area:  The area within which all the chart components are found
                      Coordinates:  The axes (X, Y) of a graph
                      Data series:  A collection of entries from which a chart is derived

                      Gridlines:  Lines running from X and Y axes separately
                      X axis:  The horizontal axis of a chart
                      Y axis:  The vertical axis of a chart






                              Quick Recall

                      •  A chart helps us to compare and analyse data.

                      •  A chart has the following components: X axis, Y axis, chart title, axis title, chart area, plot area,
                         legend, gridlines and data labels.

                      •  The most commonly used charts are column chart, line chart, pie chart, bar chart, area chart,
                         XY scatter chart, doughnut chart, radar chart, bubble chart and stock chart.

                      •  Chart title describes the content of the chart.
                      •  In Excel, you can create as well as format a chart.
                      •  The chart tools are located on Design and Format tabs.
