Design View
The Design view is divided into the
following two parts.
• Field Grid Pane: Here, we
defi ne the Field Name, Data
Type and Description.
• Field Properties Pane: Here,
we set the properties for the
fi elds of the table.
Datasheet View
Here, the table is displayed as a
grid. Data can be entered directly
into the table’s rows and columns.
Column indicates fi eld and row
indicates record.
Switching between Views
Step 1
We can switch between the Datasheet view and the
Design view.
Follow these steps to switch between the views. Step 2
1. Click on the Home tab.
2. Click on the View option in the ‘Views’ group
to switch between the Datasheet and Design
views.
Rules for Naming a Field
There are some basic rules that we follow while naming a fi eld. The rules for naming a fi eld are
as follows.
• A fi eld name can range from 1 to 64 characters.
• A fi eld name includes letters, numbers and special characters.
• A fi eld name cannot begin with a blank space.
