Do and Learn
Create a Word document and type a paragraph on ‘Importance of Water in Our Lives’. Follow
the given instructions.
• Change the font type, font size and colour of the heading and paragraph.
• Center align the text.
• Save your work and take a printout.
Steps to be Followed
• Create a Word document by clicking on Start Word 2016 Blank document.
• Type the heading and text. Select the text to be formatted.
• Click on the Home tab and select suitable options to make the desired changes in font type,
font size and font colour. Click on the Paragraph tab to center align the text.
• To save the document, click on the File tab and select the Save option. You can also click on the
Save button on the Quick Access toolbar.
• The Save As screen will appear. You will fi nd three panes in the Save As screen namely OneDrive
– Personal, This PC and Add a Place. Select This PC option and click on the Browse button.
• The Save As dialog box will open. Select the location where the fi le needs to be saved.
• Type any name in the File name box. Click on the Save button.
• The file will be saved with .docx extension. The changed fi le name will appear on the Title bar.
• To print the document, click on the File tab and select the Print option.
• You will see the Print window. Select the printer from the Printer drop-down list.
• Enter the number of copies in the Copies box.
• Click on the arrow next to Print All Pages to choose any given option.
– Print All Pages: It prints the entire document.
– Print Selection: It prints the selected part of the document.
– Print Current Page: It prints the selected page of the document.
– Custom Print: It prints the specifi ed range of pages from the document.
• Click on the Print button after selecting the desired options.
Computer Etiquette
While reading on a computer, never use a pencil or any solid pointer to point the text on the
monitor screen. It may create permanent scratches on the screen.
