A folder is like a bag containing many files and/or sub-folders. Folders keeps the files
organised by grouping them together.
When we type or draw something, we save it so that we can use it later. We give it a
name so that it can be easily located whenever required. This document is called a file.
Therefore, a file is a collection of data stored together. It is represented by the software
it is made in.
Creating a New File
We can create fi les in various application software like Word 2016, Paint and WordPad.
Let’s learn to create a new file in Word 2016 by following these
steps.
1. Open Word document by clicking on the Start button and
then on Word 2016.
