                        • In an isometric sketch the measurements agree with those of the solid.
                        • In an isometric sketch the inclination of the sides is such that each one unit is represented by a
                        side of an equilateral triangle.

Example 1: Given an oblique sketch of a cube, draw an isometric sketch that
                                  matches with this drawing.
                                                                                                                      3
Solution: Follow the steps given above to obtain the isometric sketch of the
                                  cube shown below. 3
                                                                                                            3

                                                             EXERCISE 19.3
                      1. The dimensions of a cuboid are 6 cm, 4 cm and 2 cm respectively. Draw three different isometric
                        sketches of the cuboid.
                      2. Four cubes of 2 cm edge are placed side by side to form a cuboid. Sketch an oblique as well as
an isometric sketch of the resulting cuboid.
                      3. Make an isometric sketch of each of the following.

                                                                                                    2

                                                                                                           2
                         (a) 2 (b) 2 2
                                                            2
                                            7 2

                                                                                                    6
