                      5.  Solve the following word problems.

                            (a)  Ravi bought 3 shirts, 2 trousers and 2 jackets from a mall near his house. If each shirt
                                costed him ` 725, each trouser ` 1,025.75 and each jacket ` 2,560.85, how much did
                                Ravi pay in all?
                           (b)  Mrs Mehta goes to a grocery shop and purchases 7 kg of rice for ` 299.25. What is
                                the cost of rice per kg?

                            (c)  Avni purchased two sets of tablecloths, each costing ` 595. If she had ` 1,500 in all,
                                how much money is she left with?

                           (d)  Sunil opens a savings bank account with ` 5,000. After a week, he deposits ` 6,975
                                in his account. Again he deposits ` 9,085 by cheque. At the end of the month, he
                                withdraws ` 5,450 from the bank. How much money is left in his account?

                            (e)  If the cost of painting a wall of a room is ` 917, how much will it cost to paint four
                                walls of the room?
                            (f)  If 8 kg of apples costs ` 480 and 5 kg of mangoes costs ` 350, what is the total cost of
                                1 kg apples and 1 kg mangoes?
