ACTIVITY
What To Do?
To make students read and write time in hours, minutes and seconds
What We Need?
A toy clock, blackboard/whiteboard and chalk
How To Do?
Divide the class into two teams – team A and team B. Your teacher will call out
one student from each team one by one.
A student from team A will move all the three hands of the clock to show a
particular time and call out whether it is expressed in a.m. or p.m.
A student from team B will come, read and write that particular time on the board
both in 12-hour and 24-hour clock time.
For example, if a student from team A sets the clock at 5:15:20 and calls out p.m.,
then the student from team B should write 5:15:20 p.m. and 17 hours 15 minutes
20 seconds on the board.
Next a student from team B will set the time and call out a.m. or p.m., and a student
from team A will read the time and write it on the board.
The teacher will give 1 point for each correct answer.
Repeat the activity till each student from both the team gets his/her turn to set
the time and answer it on the board.
The team with maximum points will be declared the winner by the teacher.
