Let’s see the steps to draw a line segment of any given length through an example.
Example 1: Draw a line segment of length 4 cm.
Solu on: Step 1: Place the ruler on the paper on which the line segment has to be drawn.
Step 2: Start from the ‘0’ mark on the ruler and mark a point against it,
without disturbing the ruler.
Step 3: Mark the other end point against 4 cm.
Step 4: Draw and extend a straight line from 0 to 4 cm.
Step 5: Remove the ruler. Label the two end points as P and Q.
Step 6: Line segment PQ of the given length 4 cm is drawn.
