ACTIVITY TIME

Transpiration occurs in plants
Aim:
To show the process of transpiration in plants
water droplets
You Need:
A small potted plant and a big glass jar
glass jar
What to Do:

• Place the potted plant under direct sunlight.
• Cover it with the glass jar.
• Observe after few hours.

Observation:

You will see small droplets of water on the inner wall of the jar.
Result:

The water droplets have been released by the plant through transpiration.

Things We Get from Plants

Plants are essential to us. We get many useful things that we use in our daily lives, from
plants.

• We get most of our food such as cereals, pulses, nuts, fruits, vegetables, oils and

spices from plants. They also give us beverages like coff ee and tea.
