Do and Learn

                                                            Sprouting Seeds

Learn how a new baby plant grows from a seed.

                    You Need:

Tissue paper, a plastic cup or a container, a few fast-sprouting seeds (peas, beans, chickpeas,
                    sweetcorn), aluminium foil

                    What to Do:

                    • Put some crumpled tissue papers in the
                       plastic cup or container.

                    • Sprinkle enough water on the tissues
                       to make them moist.
                    • Put the seeds around the outside of the
tissues carefully. You should be able to

observe the seeds through the container.
                    • Cover the container with the aluminium foil and keep it in a warm place.

                    • Keep the tissues moist.
                    • Observe the seeds everyday.

                    Enjoy watching your seeds sprouting...
