Let’s try to learn how to add numbers with carry over Carry over in
using the following examples. addition is called
regrouping.
Example 4: Add 59 and 18.
Solution: Step 1: Add the ones. T O

Since 17 is a 2-digit number, write 7 under the ones + 1 8
place and carry over 1 to the tens place.
