Read the following sentences.
Firstly, Prometheus asked Zeus for fire but he refused.

Then, Prometheus stole fire and gave it to man.

Later, Zeus found out, chained Prometheus to a mountain and sent a huge bird to
torture him every day.

Finally, Hercules killed the bird and set Prometheus free.

Words like firstly, then, later and finally help us to sequence a story or an event in the correct
order.

Now rewrite these sentences in proper sequence using fi rstly, next, then, aŌ er

that and fi nally.

1. I’ll dry them with a towel.

2. I’ll sit at the table for lunch.

3. I’ll wash my hands with soap and water.

4. I’ll say my prayers and start eating.

5. I’ll open my napkin and put it on my lap.
