Johnny Appleseed : Well, some food would be nice. I would also like to have the seeds
from the apples on the ground under the trees, if you don’t mind.
Farmer : Are you sure you want just that? Don’t you want anything else?
Johnny Appleseed : No, nothing else. Thank you.
Imagine you went to the market to buy something. In pairs, prepare a short
dialogue between yourself and the shopkeeper. Enact the dialogue in class.

Look at the images carefully and answer the following ques ons.
i. What are the children doing?
ii. Explain why these activities are important.
Project Work
In groups of four or fi ve students each, plan to do something for the environment
or the well-being of the other students in class.
Here are some of the things that the groups can do.
• Pick up garbage after recess every day from the school compound and dispose it off
properly.
• Plant some trees and water the existing plants in the school compound.
• Conduct a discussion in class on road safety or first aid.
You can also extend these services to your locality.
