Read the following sentence.
The king looks at the dolls, puzzled.
A sentence has two parts:
• Subject: It tells us who or what the sentence is about. It can be a noun, pronoun or
a group of words.
• Predicate: It is a single word or a group of words that tells us something about the
subject. The predicate always contains a verb.
Let’s see the subject and the predicate of the sentence given.
