The king immediately sends for Tenali to be present in the court.
Tenali enters.
TENALI : [bows] Your Majesty, Raman is at your service.
KRISHNADEVARAYA : Tenali, look at these dolls and tell me – what difference can
you find among them?
Tenali takes the dolls and looks at them closely.
TENALI : Give me three days, Sire. I will definitely solve this mystery.
SCENE 2
Seven days have passed and the merchant has come back for his answer. King Krishnadevaraya, all
the ministers and Tenali are seated in the court. The people in the court are talking among themselves.
MERCHANT : [bows] Your Majesty, I have come for my answer.
KRISHNADEVARAYA : And so you shall have it. Tenali?
TENALI : [comes forward with the dolls] Yes, Your Majesty.
KRISHNADEVARAYA : So, what is your answer, Tenali?
