Hybrid Cloud
In hybrid cloud, two or more clouds are combined together to form a single cloud. It is fl exible
and more secure.
Advantages of Cloud Computing
Let’s learn about some advantages of cloud computing.
Cost Savings
Using cloud computing, you don’t need to spend a lot of money on the server setup and
installation cost. It is based on pay-per-use model.
Reliability
Cloud computing is much more reliable and consistent than IT infrastructure in terms of data
management, backup and recovery from failures. It provides redundant IT resources, automatic
data backup as well as quick fail over mechanism.
Free Storage
Cloud provides unlimited free and secure storage space to store large amount of information.
Accessibility
Cloud-based services and applications can be accessed through Internet-enabled devices,
such as desktops, laptops and mobile phones.
Disadvantages of Cloud Computing
Let’s look at some disadvantages of cloud computing.
Usability
Be very careful when using drag/drop to move a document into the cloud storage folder. This
will permanently move your document from its original folder to the cloud storage location.
Accessibility
If there is no Internet connection, you have no access to your data.
Limited Control
As the cloud infrastructure is entirely owned, managed and monitored by a service provider,
the consumer has very little control over the data service.
Security
Cloud is secure as it implements the best security standards and encryption methods, but
storing the company’s sensitive data on others’ cloud is always vulnerable to security issues.
Google Drive
Google Drive is a free online storage service provided by Google that allows the users to store
fi les on the cloud. It can be used as a personal hard drive to store photos, videos, documents, etc.
