                             THINK AND ANSWER

                             1. Living organisms depend on each other in various ways for their survival. Can you
tell in what ways plants depend on other living organisms like animals, humans and
                                 insects?
                             2. Seeds germinate to form seedling. As we have learnt, seedling obtains food from the
cotyledons. Can you tell from where it gets the food to keep growing once the food in
                                 cotyledons is used up completely?

                        TALK ABOUT

You must have seen farms where one type of plant like wheat, rice or maize is grown in a large area.
These plants are called crops. Crops are grown and looked after by farmers. Discuss in your class the
importance of farms and farmers in our life.

                         LINK AND LEARN

Diff erent types of plants are grown in diff erent parts of our country. Select any one state from each
of the four parts, i.e., east, west, north and south, of India. Find out about the types of crops or
plants grown in each state and the favourable conditions required for their growth. Make a report
and show it to your teacher.
