Wind is a Form of Energy

To show that wind is a form of energy (you may try this experiment at home).

You Need:
A mopping cloth and some water in a bucket.

What to Do:

1. Go to a room with the required materials.

2. Close the windows and switch off the ceiling fans.
3. Now wet the mopping cloth with water in the bucket.

4. Mop a small area on the fl oor and wait for it to dry.
5. Note the time taken by the fl oor to dry.

6. After the fl oor dries, switch on the fans and again mop a small area.

7. Again, note the time taken by the fl oor to dry.

You will fi nd out that the time taken by the fl oor to dry is
lesser when the fans are switched on. This is because as we
switch on the fan, the wind blows. The fl oor dries up faster Project Time
due to the energy of the wind. Thus, we can say that wind is
