Revolution of the earth around the sun

Formation of Day and Night

Day and night occur due to the rotation of earth on
its axis. It takes 24 hours to complete one rotation.
The half that faces the sun during the rotation has

day while the other half that is away from the sun
night

day has night.

What to Do:
• In a dark room, shine the torch on the globe.
• Can you tell which part of the globe is in the day and which part is in the night?
