Viewing Different Sections of a Solid

A 3-D object has a 2-D section. A solid object can be viewed in different ways. One way is finding
the cross-section by cutting or slicing and another method is by studying the shadow it casts on
            the screen.

            Cross-section by slicing
Take a loaf of bread. It is like a cuboid. If
a vertical cut is made along the breadth, a
square is obtained. This square is known as
            cross-section of the bread.

If a horizontal cut is made along the length,
the cross-section so obtained is a rectangle.
