              1.  Sachin purchased 20 dozen toys at the rate of  ` 375 per dozen. He sold each toy at
                  the rate of ` 33. What is his profit on each toy?
              2.  Jitender bought 25 kg wheat at ` 37 per kg and 35 kg wheat at ` 36 per kg. He mixed
                  the two and sold the mixture at ` 37.50 per kg. What is his profit or loss?

              3.  If the selling price of an article is  rd of its cost price, find the profit.

              4.  Aryan bought 30 bunches of orchids for ` 1,800. Each bunch had 10 flowers. He sold
                  each flower for ` 10.00. Find his profit or loss.





                                          GROUP ACTIVITY





            To reinforce the concept of profit and loss
            Things We Need: White sheets of paper, a pencil and a pair of scissors

            How To Do:

              1.  Divide the class into four groups.
              2.  Name three groups as shopkeepers A, B and C. The fourth group will be the buyers.

              3.  Each shopkeeper should make cut outs of the items listed below with the prices written
                  on each. The prices of each item should be different for each shop.

              4.  The buyers should work in pairs and make their own purchase lists of any five items.
              5.  The buyers will go to each shopkeeper and find out the total cost of the items in their
                  lists.

              6.  After comparing the total, the buyers have to find out which shopkeeper is giving
                  them the best deal.
