To understand the expanded form of decimal numbers
Things We Need: Coloured sheets of paper, cardboard or old greeting cards, a pair of scissors
and a glue stick
How To Do:
1. Make one set of number cards from 0 to 9 and one set of place value cards from ones
to thousandths.

2. Divide the class into groups.
3. The teacher will write a decimal number for each group one by one.
4. Each group will then place the cards to show the expanded form of that number.
